Midwife appointment
The midwife consultations at Loote Ultrahelikeskus are provided by midwife Jane Tisler, who works in close daily collaboration with obstetrician Dr. Marek Šois and has extensive experience in pregnancy follow-up, assessment of pregnancy-related concerns, and counseling for prenatal diagnostics.
All pregnant women are welcome, whether they are on a normal course of pregnancy or have questions or concerns. If you wish, your partner is also warmly welcome.
An in-person visit allows direct contact and a thorough assessment. When needed, examinations are performed, and a clear plan for further care is agreed upon.
What does a midwife appointment offer?
The aim of the midwife consultation is to provide comprehensive, practical, and trustworthy support throughout pregnancy – combining discussion, physical assessment, and necessary investigations.

- potential complications are prevented where possible,
- informed decision-making regarding pregnancy care is supported,
- The need for obstetric consultation is evaluated.

Yes. Midwife also offers video consultations at all stages of pregnancy. A video consultation is suitable for discussing pregnancy-related symptoms, examinations, prenatal tests, choosing the appropriate ultrasound examination, and questions about vaccination during pregnancy. If needed, the midwife can issue digital prescriptions within the limits permitted by law. A video consultation does not replace a doctor’s appointment in higher-risk pregnancies; if necessary, the patient will be referred to a gynecologist or an in-person appointment.
-
How do I choose between a midwife and a gynecologist appointment?
If you need pregnancy follow-up, counselling, support with symptoms, or planning of tests, a midwife appointment is often the right choice.
If a medical decision or more advanced diagnostics are needed, the midwife will refer you to a gynecologist.
