POC care pathway after a missed miscarriage
The POC care pathway is intended for women diagnosed with a missed miscarriage who wish to receive treatment, genetic testing, and follow-up care at one center.
The service includes ultrasound assessment and counseling, EasyPOC testing from maternal blood and StandardPOC testing of pregnancy tissue, medical management of the miscarriage, and follow-up care. The EasyPOC blood sample is collected at 7 weeks of pregnancy, before the pregnancy tissue passes.
The doctor assesses whether home medical management is suitable. The patient receives medication, written instructions, and a kit for collecting pregnancy tissue. The doctor assesses recovery at follow-up and explains genetic results once available, along with any need for further investigations.
