Interphase FISH analysis

Interphase FISH analysis (iFISH) can be offered to patients who have had amniocentesis or chorionic biopsy.

iFISH is quick analysis whic identifies chromosmal diseases seen under a microscope, including changes in the number of chromosomes (Down syndrome, Edwards syndrome, Patau syndrome) and changes in the number of sex chromosomes (Turner syndrome, Klinefelter syndrom, Jacob's syndrome, Triple X syndrome) and triploidy.

In case of a positive rapid test result, it's recommended to confirm the diagnosis with classical karyotyping.

The result of the iFISH analysis arrives 48 hours after the invasive procedure.

The cost of the chorionic biopsy or amniocentesis is added to the price of the study.
